It was a Tuesday. The kind I used to daydream about from behind a desk that was quietly killing me. Here's how I changed my life. Not the way my mentors told me to.
Something baked into this message that a lot of life is about the journey. It’s about building and working toward something and seeing the small shifts (wins) and being able to feel the joy or excitement or payoff of the creation of the life you want. Humans do not stay content long when they get to a destination lol. Cliche but - enjoy the ride. Love this and I’m going to sit here and sip my coffee and think about my Tuesday!
Yes to this, completely. The joy is in the becoming, not the arriving. I think that’s actually the whole argument for enjoying wherever you are on the path, since the destination was never going to hold still long enough to satisfy you anyway. Hope your Tuesday ( now Wednesday) is a good one.
Yes love this! I love visualising. I first started doing it when we were renovating our house (while living in it), and it was calming and motivating to think about how it would feel once it was all done, instead of the chaos that it was in the moment. Now I do it nearly everyday consistently and it's been such a positive experience. Thanks for sharing!
Katrina, this is exactly it. Renovating while living in it is such a perfect stress test for visualization, because the chaos is right there in front of you and you’re choosing to look past it anyway. That’s the real skill, not just picturing the outcome, but doing it while the mess is still on the counter. Love that it became a daily practice. Thanks for sharing this.
i love all of your posts but this one may be my favorite yet. I've always found "visualization" to be daunting because like you said, how can you route to something without an address? I think the key is to get really specific. don't worry about where you'll be a year from now. Just think about a random ideal day and imagine it down to every detail. Will try this in my morning pages tomorrow
Taking the pressure off the timeline is exactly it. A random ideal day is so much easier than ‘where will I be in a year.’ Please let me know how it goes with your pages!
"Destiny is not a destination. It's a direction." It's a line I've written many times. Love the alignment with your journey. Thank you for including 'play' in this article and for sharing your Tuesday practice.
Of course you'd catch the 'direction not destination' thread. You planted it. The Tuesday practice is still holding, and you're a big reason it does. Grateful for you. 🙏🏽
